Counselling, Supervision and Autism Support
Supervision
I provide online individual and group supervision for counsellors-in-training, newly qualified and experienced counsellors. I also provide online supervision for specialist mentors and support staff working in higher education.
As a counsellor, I work within the pluralistic framework which is relational and collaborative, and encourages the integration of theory, principles and methods from different modalities, in my case combining my knowledge of humanistic, existential and CBT therapies. I take the same approach when working as a supervisor. My training is in the Hawkins and Shohet model which works across different modalities, placing the supervisory relationship at the centre in a way that is collaborative and facilitative.
I am currently working as a group supervisor in a counselling agency and as an individual supervisor in private practice, supervising counsellors, specialist mentors and wellbeing advisers.
I have worked as a supervisor in voluntary and paid-for services supervising counsellors working with adults as well as those working with young people. I have experience of supervising counsellors working in long-term, open-ended counselling where the focus is often on relationships, childhood trauma and attachment issues together with experience supervising counsellors working with young people in FE and youth counselling agencies where the work is more goal-oriented and solution-focused, often within the short-term (6 week) model.
Supervision for counsellors-in-training
I have considerable experience of working with counsellors-in-training in their placement. I understand the challenges of combining studying with clinical work and can support you in both. I am happy to provide progress reports as required by your training establishment.
I have a specialist qualification in counselling young people which means that I meet the BACP competences for supervising counsellors of all levels of experience who work with young people (11 – 25 years).

Supervision for counsellors working with autism
I have personal and professional experience of autism, together with a Master’s in autism where I researched counselling for young people with autism. If you are providing counselling for autistic clients and think you would benefit from specialised supervision, I am happy to provide individual sessions.
I have personal and professional experience of autism which I use to provide specialist supervision for autistic counsellors. Sessions are adapted to your individual needs and provide the opportunity to understand your work from the perspective of autism.
