Counselling

I am an experienced counsellor and supervisor, registered and accredited with the BACP. I am fully qualified to work online and have professional membership of ACTO.

Supervision

I am a qualified supervisor with experience of supervising individuals and groups in person and online.

Online Counselling Young People Autism Supervision

Experience

As well as working in private practice, I have worked as a counsellor in youth counselling agencies, sixth form college and university counselling services, in person and online.   I have set up and run a counselling service in a local sixth form school where I also provided a specialist support service for autistic students.
 
I currently provide group supervision for a local counselling organisation for counsellors at all levels.  I have worked as a supervisor in counselling services and private practice, providing individual and group supervision for counsellors-in-training, newly qualified and experienced counsellors.   
 
 I also provide supervision for specialist mentors (ASC and Mental Health) and those working in sixth form and university wellbeing services.

Autism

I have a particular interest in autism. I have extensive personal and professional experience of Asperger's Syndrome which I use to provide counselling and support for individuals and families living with this condition.

I have a Master’s in autism (M Ed Autism) and my research focused on counselling and support for young people with autism. 
 
I work as a specialist mentor in universities, supporting students who live with autism and/or mental health conditions. 
 
I have collaborated with the BACP in improving autism knowledge and awareness, and I provide mentoring support for counsellors with neurodivergent conditions.

Professional Memberships

  • I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

  • I am a professional member of the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).

  • I am registered with the ICO and have an enhanced DBS certificate.

BACP and ACTO are organisations which regulate and oversee the counselling profession.  I adhere to their policies, codes of practice and ethical frameworks in carrying out my work, attending regular supervision and engaging in continuing professional development.
