What is Single Session Therapy?
Single Session Therapy (SST) is a focused and more structured approach which will help you deal with a particular or specific issue. My aim is to provide you with the help that you need, when you need it and within one session.

Further sessions can be arranged if necessary, but my main goal is to provide you with what you need to solve your problem now.

Is it for me?
SST is suitable for you if:

you have a specific problem or concern which you want to resolve quickly

How will it help me?
Whether you’re facing a sudden, new challenge, or you’ve been worrying about the problem for a while, you know that you need help now.

You may want someone to listen while you talk something through

You may be feeling stuck and want help in working out what to do

You may need to make a decision, but you want some one to help you make the right decision

You may be facing a problem, and you want to understand it better so that you can make sense of the way it is affecting you
What happens in a session?
It is helpful for us both to prepare for the session, so I will send you a questionnaire which will help us both focus on the main issue. At the start of our session, we will agree what you would like to achieve during the session and what you would like to take with you when your session is over.

I will work with you to provide you with the support that you need and to make sure that you leave with a greater understanding of your situation. This may include looking at ways that you have dealt with the problem in the past, helping you to recognise your strengths and to identify ways that you can make better use of them in the present.
At the end of the session, we will agree what you would like to do next. You might decide that you do not need any further support or you might decide that you would like another or more session/s.

I also provide an optional 15 minute follow-up call three weeks after your session to see how you are managing.
How do I book an SST session?
If you are interested in SST, we can have an initial 15 minute conversation so that I can answer any questions that you might have. If you decide that you would like to go ahead, I will send you a contract for you to read and sign. Once you have returned the contract, I will book your session and send you the questionnaire. You do not have to complete the questionnaire, but if you can, it will help you get more out of your session by being prepared and focused.
